MY WORDS TO KEM LEY PRIOR TO HIS LAUNCHING A POLITICAL PARTY

I did ask Kem Ley when he and his colleagues started to lay a foundation for the now grassroot democracy party with a question why they -- now in their fifties -- hadn't started it 10 or 15 years back. I compared launching a political party to planting a tree that needs at least 10 to 20 years' time for their fruit.

I also said to him to launch a party at so late a time for Cambodian context was just better for preparing future young leaders than a dream of being a country's leader.
